What do you think of the Big Three Auto Executives flying private jets into DC to beg for money?

Surely they build nice limousines to use!

They just don't seem to get it. I was floored, I wanted to be there as a tax payer & ask them plain & simply WTF? Are they that stupid? Yes they are. I wouldn't give any of them a dime. Corporate greed is so evident & so obvious here it's pathetic. I understand that thousands of people can & will loose there jobs. What people don't seem to understand is that this is going to happen either way, weather they receive our tax money or not. These CEO's are looking to for a quick fix, a fast & easy way to get out of the hole they put themselves in. What Government should be asking for, as well as the tax payers & especially the blue collar workers of the company is the termination of the top corporate executives.
Alan Mulally, who succeeded Bill Ford last year as chief executive of Ford Motor Co. (F), received compensation valued at $39.1 million in his four months on the job in 2006, including an $18.5 million bonus related to his signing and awards he gave up when he left his previous employer Boeing Co. (BA), according to a regulatory filing Thursday.

Same Alan that recently flew in on a cooperate jet (costing his company $20,000) to ask for our tax money. Alan's salary is 2 million a yr. but his bonus & all cooperate CEO's bonus & compensation checks are outrageous! How much does one man need!

Why did the Auto Executives Fly to Washington on Private Jets?

I was watching the news and I heard they flew to Washington on their private planes costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. If their companies are really in trouble why couldn't they fly on a normal Commercial flight to save money?

Why are they so arrogant and threatening towards congress?
Shame on those of you trying to justify executives using private jets when their company is on the brink of collapse.

GM is a Multi-Billion Dollar company as is Ford and Chrysler. GM had $16 billion in cash at the end of September. Over $100 billion in sales. I don't think a $20,000 flight from Detroit to DC is bankrupting them. It would take a lot of those flights to bankrupt them.

Why did the big 3 auto executives asking for tax payers money while they flown in private jets?

To me that signals they they have enough money they could invest or they are just plan greedy with our money. Let them fail higher new management that values the capitalist system.

They thought Obama and his monions would think they were cool. Their problem...they didn't have their own logo/symbol on the wing. THAT would have impressed those Democrats.

How can GM executives expect public sentiment when they fly to bailout hearing in private jets? ?

I know this is normal for top execs to fly everywhere in executive jets. But, this just shows a lack of common sense on the executives part. Take the jet anywhere- just not to a hearing where your begging for 50 billion dollars of Americans money. Without common sense, how can you expect these executives to be capable of running such a company. This just wasn't smart. Plain and simple. If you want public sentiment, fly Southwest then stay at a Hampton Inn. Leak the story to the media, and you would get public sentiment and your 50b. Give the public something to work with. Everyone knows you don't meet the IRS wearing your good jewelry. C'mon guys- common sense.

Though I agree this was bad move on their part. The workers should be the concern. The states that have been in a recession long before the rest of us took notice should be the concern.

Criticizing American Corporate Executives and CEOs Flying in Corporate Jets . Is This Form of Demagoguery?

These jets manufacturers create jobs for thousands of people.
There are many manufacturers of these types of planes in Brazil and they will love to see the American manufacturers like Cessna go under so they have less of completion.
The question is about criticizing the CEO's of major American companies of using private jets is this form of Demagoguery/

Perhaps when the jets were built...jobs were created...but now this is just overhead in companies that cannot afford to pay their bills. Not a very smart thing to do...
