I am deploying to Afghanistan soon and I am looking for an affordable way to call home and receive calls from home on my wireless phone. Cingular wants $3.00 a minute but I am hoping there are other alternatives out there. Please let me know if you have any solutions.

What is the best wireless calling plan to call Mexico from the US?

I have the North America plan with verizon unfortunally they stop the plan. this plan was great for me it allowed me to call Mexico from the US, and vice versa at a reasonalble price. My contract is about to expired, they are going to try and make me change the current plan, I dont want to but I also want to add a line for my girlfriend and I'm looking at other companies and their plans. any suggestion would be apreciated
