How Do You Clean Cellular Blinds?

New postby Xuan » 29 Oct 2012, 18:23

They are about 7 years old and are really dingy - can I take them to a dry cleaners? Do carpet/upholstery cleaners clean blinds too?

Use the hand held fabric cleaner attatchment from a rug steamer you rent at the store. Works great!

There is most likely a way to unsnap the blind itself from the mount structure ( that is screwed into your window frame) once you have removed the blind from this frame...chances are you will reveal the screws.

its almost an impossible question to answer without seeing the blind...but i am a decorative painter and have to remove blinds and window treatments daily.
i would recommend you get a step stool so you are high enough to really see what you are doing.

How do you get creases out of cloth cellular mini blinds?

New postby Carmela » 29 Oct 2012, 18:23

Help. my son is going to be in trouble with his step-dad. We have those expensive, cloth, cellular mini blinds and there is a crease in it. He thinks my son leaned against it and it left a crease. He wants him to replace it but it was like $200 and I don't think it needs to be replaced. How would you get the crease or dent out of the blind? It is a pretty small crease only on one or two pleats and I don't want to cause any damage to the blind.

Wood Faux or cellular blinds?

New postby Tiara » 29 Oct 2012, 18:23

I want to purchase window treatments for a room that has lots of windows. Trying to decide between 2" wood faux and cellular blinds. Has anyone had any experience with either? Which would you recommend?

Wood faux blinds can be easily cleaned. I don't know about cellular blinds. Another thing to choose is how much sunlight or cold you might have to block if there are lots of windows. Maybe you can have someone come to your house with samples to help with your choice.

Cats and cellular blinds?

New postby Ramon » 29 Oct 2012, 18:23

We are thinking about getting cellular blinds in our house. However, we have two cats and I am worried they may scratch them. So i am wondering if anyone knows from experience or whatever if cats are attracted to those types of blinds or if they will leave them alone? I definately don't want to pay a lot for custom blinds if the cats are just going to shred them.

Thanks in advance!

My mother has blinds through out the house and they feel like plastic but they are painted. I wonder if these would be good for your cats. My cat just leaves them alone. I have it part way so she can look out the window. I hope this helps.

A. It would regulate cellular metabolism because it inhibits the enzymes involved in cellular respiration, which metabolizes glucose to produce ATP.
