In my personal opinion I really like Clorox. I am a kindergarten teacher and trust me there are germs around me constantly. I make the kids wipe down their desks with Clorox wipes everyday and feel great about it. I also have many different Clorox products in my classroom that I use to disinfect after the day is done and feel like my room is sanitized. I like the smell of clorox products better than lysol as well. Lysol is really strong and over powering.

Why is Clorox Bleach the only bleach that identifies itself as a disinfectant?

Other store brands etc. define themselves as deodorizer but not disinfectant. They seem to have the same concentration of sodium hypochlorite. What gives?

Although it can be used to disinfect some surfaces against some bacteria, it is not a disinfectant. It is an astringent, such as lemon juice and vinegar. Clorox appears to be the only one who wants to add this additional usage to its products advantages.

Clorox and Disinfectant!?Emergency!?

New postby Queen » 23 Oct 2012, 13:43

I sprayed my toilet seat with some disinfectant spray and poured some clorox into the toilet. But when I poured the clorox into the toilet it fumed up and released an ammonia type smell. I realized that some disinfectant spray mixed in with the toilet water causing the clorox to fume BADLY!

WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW!?

Never mix bleach and ammonia-!--!-(possibly in the disinfectant) very hazardous, caustic--- leave the area- when safe to return (allow to disipate for up to an hour if possible) open doors and windows and ventilate---Go breathe fresh air and wash your eyes with cool water.

New postby Franchesca » 23 Oct 2012, 13:43

Why does my daughter's school supply list "Disinfectant Wipes" and then state "NO CLOROX"?

Her list specifically requests the disinfectant wipes but states No Clorox. Why? Is there something bad about that particular brand wipes? Do they fear that they may get wipes with bleach in them? What's the deal? I know it's not expense!

If you read the label, it gives a 'keep out of children's reach' warning. It also stated it was very harmful to humans and domestic animals, to keep out of contact with eyes, that it could stain clothing, and that you should wash your hands with soap and water after every use. Kids could have allergic reactions and could get a hold of them or something if it's for the teacher's use only. It's only a means of safety.

What is the .1% germ/virus that Lysol, Clorox, and other disinfectants can't kill?

If you have seen the commercials and ads, they always say "kills 99.9 percent of germs"! What the hell is that .1% that is undestructible?

Mycobacterium tuberculosis,m. leprae,m. bovine can't be killed by that kind of disinfectant, and so do anykind of germ that can made themself layer (cyst).

Ps : iluvtorofl, i'm sorry, i meant micobacterium leprae (causing morbus hansen / leprosy), not leptospirosis.
