How to clean stained stainless steel and plastic parts to juicer?

I borrowed a juicer from a friend and used it much more than she ever did. Now I want to return it, but there is one plastic piece of it that is stained (from carrots and beets) and a stainless steel part that is discolored a bit in parts from the same.
Any ideas for getting the stains out?

Buy some stainless steel cleaner found at walmart.

I use it on my sink, which is old and it helps ALOT!

Cut the fruit or peel it to put it in the juicer. What do you suggest is the best brand? I dont want it to be huge either.

All the raw food people reccomend VitaMix. And they drink a lot of juices so they should know.
