Look for a gold lock in the lower right hand corner to find evidence of a "secure" site that utilizes encryption. As far as how safe they are, I'm not sure that anyone could truly answer that. There are some precautions you can take when making on-line purchases.

Close your browser immediately after completing the purchase. Limit on-line purchases to one account that is not linked to your main personal account. Make sure this account has only a limited balance. Perhaps you could transfer money as needed into this account, maybe 24 hours prior to making your on-line purchase, so that the account never actually maintains a high or substantial balance.

Go to annualcreditreport.com for your free yearly credit reports from the three major credit bureaus.

Please help me find an absolutely free online credit report online?

Does anyone know where I can find a free online credit report to pull up online without the hidden costs of any monthly fees or one time charges? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe www.annualcreditreport.com gives you one free one per year. You can also get one through Experian, TransUnion or Equifax once a year with no cost.

Free Credit Report Online - I need something free, instant and easy. What is the best site?

Hi,

I am looking for a free credit report online. Preferably a service which provides instant results and is easy to understand. Can anyone recommend the best site to use? Something like a free credit report comparison would be awesome or even just somewhere that I can get more information about free credit reports.

How can i get a free credit report online without a credit card?

I'm 18 and i need to find out my credit score because i got a bill in the mail saying i owed $156.11 when ive never orderd or heard about this place before.please help i want to know what my credit score is?

You can go to myfico.com, but there is a fee to get your credit score. I don't know where you can get a free credit score, if you even can. You can check your credit report (different from a credit score, it shows what kind of credit information they have on you) for free at annualcreditreport.com. Since you are entitled to a free report once a year from each of the three credit agencies, you can actually get a free credit report every 4 months if you rotate through them at that site one at a time.

How this will help with a questionable bill you received I am not sure, though it may show an open account somewhere which you can then get closed.

Go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com

This is the official site and they will never try to sell you anything at a later time.

You can get all three reports once a year for free. A credit card is not required unless you want to get your credit score.

There are other sites that advertise free credit reports and scores but you must sign up for their service. Nothing is sold here except a credit score if desired.
