I would like to know why, If the free credit report is free, why do they want a credit card number?

When I go to the site for the so called free credit report, they want a credit card number. If the report is free what do they need this for?

You need to chose the option that you have been denied credit and they will know and if not then you will not get a free copy.

I just want to know exactly if I have good or bad credit.

Annualcreditreport.com is the real free site to check your credit file for free once a year.

NOT freecreditreport.com - They require a credit card and enrollment in their monthly service to get your "free credit report." It's a scam...but they need your money to pay for all those dumb commercials.....

You cannot get your credit/FICO score for free...you have to pay extra for this.

How do I get a FREE credit report that's actually free?

Despite the advertising that says you get a FREE credit report, they still want money. Does anyone know how a person can get their free credit report & not have to pay something? Don't these companies know about false advertising? Thanks in advance y'all!

By Federal law, you are entitled to one free credit report per year. The site to go to is:

They will not ask for money!

Hi,

I am looking for a free credit report online. Preferably a service which provides instant results and is easy to understand. Can anyone recommend the best site to use? Something like a free credit report comparison would be awesome or even just somewhere that I can get more information about free credit reports.
