Can Sears credit card garnish your wages if you owe them money?

My hubby was planning on paying them off with his tax return but we are getting calls about how they are sueing us and going to garnish are wages will they do that? up until 6 monthes ago we were paying them off.

Only after they win a judgement in court. Not before. And mac is incorrect. The collection agency gets a % of what they collect. They cannot add their fees to your bill. But a lawyer can.

Im going to be working as a cashier sson at Sears, just hired. but they really is pushing us cashiers to sell those cards.

How to do it the right way?

Ask them as you are ringing them out if they want to put the purchase on their sears card. If they say no, they ask if they have one. If they say no then say "Would you like to save $15.00 on your purchase today?" This will get the ball rolling and the customer thinking. If they say they already have a Sears card, then ask if they have the master card AND the store card. They can have both at the same time (many people don't realize that). Ask them if they want to save money by applying for any cards they don't already have ($15.00 for the MC $10.00 for the store card).

If the customer seems at bit interested but not sure, show them how much they would save by subtracting the 15.00 from their total. (EX: Your total is $31.50 but it could be $16.50 if you open a Sears Mastercard.) Also explain to them they can pay off the balance that day (check or cash)using the temporary shopping pass so when they receive the card they don't even owe anything.

You will also be able to tell the customer who does not think they will get approved that Sears uses two banks (Citibank and HSBC) to help get customers approved. It helps their chances vs applying with one bank.

Sounds like you have not done any training yet. Some of this will be taught then. They will show you roleplay and help you get started as well. And as others have said, learn everthing about the cards and highlight the perks (no annual fee for Citibank cards, point rewards, coupons and exclusive offers, etc.) Again, you will learn about those in your training.

Can i Apply for a Sears Credit Card just to see if i would qualify?

I want te get a sears card, but want to get it in the store for the 10 dollar off benefit. Is it possible to some how check if i qualify.

Your credit history has to be run so you either have to go to the store or do it online - there's no way to say for sure if you will be accepted or rejected beforehand, even if you were already preapproved.

My manager wants everyone to sell CREDIT! but once i opened 6 credits the other 4 credits by the way im NEW* but she wants to see MORE credits open . idk how to do that or else im getting fired

Ask the customer May I put this on your Sears Card? You'll either hear... (a) I don't have a Sears Card or (b) I don't want to use my Sears card. If they don't have a Sears card, tell them they can save $15 on today's purchase simply by being approved for a Gold Mastercard.
If they already have a Regular Blue Sears Card tell them by upgrading they'll receive $15 off, the Sears Mastercard has a lower interest rate than the Sears Card, they recieve points for every purchase they make, and they can use the Sears Mastercard anywhere not just Sears. You don't have to lie to your customers just explain the benefits and people will apply.

I have a sears credit card and I want to transfer my balance on that card to another card because my Sears apr is way too high. Can I transfer my Sears balance to another card? One of my friends said that I couldn't because its a store card. Thanks!

Most credit cards have the option of giving you checks that you can write against the VISA/MC credit card. These can be used to do most anything you could do with a check, such as pay off other bills, deposit them to and account or make purchases. This counts as a cash advance, and you usually have a fee for the cash advance itself plus the interest on the VISA/MC is higher than a regular charge. Which may be as high as the Sears credit card.

Also, sometimes when you apply for a new credit card (VISA/MC) they will allow you to immediately transfer balances from other cards or loans to the new credit card and waive the transfer fee and offer a lower rate on the transferred balance.

The only real restriction on transferring balances is if you have two credit cards issued by the same issuer, such as CitiCard and you try to transfer balances between the two cards. They will not let you do that.
