How much does a Sealy Posturematic Comfort Command bed weigh and what are the dimensions?

I am trying to ship 2 twin ex-long Sealy Posturematic Comfort Command beds from Texas to Florida and need the weight and measurements to get shipping bids. What is the best freight company to use?

Try going to the website for Sealy http://www.sealy.com/ and asking them directly or try the FAQ section here http://www.sealy.com/CustomerSupport/faqs.aspx and maybe there will be some useful information there for you.

Is there a furniture store close to you that you can call or visit and ask them directly about the weight and measurements?

Yes! Sealy realizes people come in all different sizes. Contact your local retailer for the following non-traditional mattress sizes:

*72" x 84" California King
*53" x 80" Full X-Long
*38" x 80" Twin X-Long

Our Select Comfort bed is breaking down, any ideas why?

New postby Will » 29 Oct 2012, 06:06

We've pretty muched had it replaced by the company, but the foam is loosing its shape.
We have had the air bladders, air pump, middle foam, side foam, top phone, mattress case and pillow top have all been replaced by the company.
We've only had it 4 years. Six months of that it was packed in storage.

Of course the flat sheet and comforter would fit perfectly, but the fitted sheet may need some pinning, or tailoring if you sew.

I love my select comfort!

Select Comfort bed, easy to set up?

New postby Wayne » 29 Oct 2012, 06:06

My husband and I have a room with dormered ceilings and would like to upgrade to a King size bed. Unfortunately, there is no way that a spring-form bed would fit around the corners that we have to take up the staircase. Does a Select Comfort bed arrive uninflated or would it be just as difficult to move and set up as a spring form mattress?

Comes uninflated and is VERY easy to set up. The "box spring" is plastic pieces that kinda go together like Legos--hence why we call ours the "Lego bed". You should have no problems! And you will LOVE it!

How important are box springs to the overall comfort of a bed?

I have king size box springs that are very old and want to buy a new mattress cuz my back has been killing me. Do I really need to buy new box springs as well? What effect could this have on the overall comfort and effectiveness of the mattress?

Very important to the spine. Without new springs the mattress will eventually start to sag and you will be more uncomfortable.

New postby Audra » 29 Oct 2012, 06:06

What would cause the wired remotes on my Select Comfort sleep number bed to not display the numbers properly?

The digital display is only showing "part" of the number on both remotes. I cannot find any trouble shooting information for them - even through the site. I was wondering if anyone else had similar problems and how was it resolved?

(and before anyone says - replace the batteries - there are no batteries).

Thanks.

Most digital displays today are LCD.

The LCD display is "fed" it's signal via a conductive strip along the edge of the display that connects it to the circuit board generating the display information. If that conductive strip does not make good contact, one or more of the display segments will not receive their electrical signal, and your display will be missing pieces of the numbers.

As an EE, I've gone into such devices (when unplugged) and cleaned the contact area. Most often, when re-assembled, the display works again.

Unless you know a lot about electronics, you'd best stay out of the device and let a qualified technician fix it.

We've had ours for four years and love it. I have troubles sleeping on other beds. However, if you are a cuddler, somone who needs to nuzzle up to someone else, this bed probably isn't for you. The bed is divided into two adjustable air chambers. When I roll over to my wife's side of the bed, it feels like I'm rolling off a cliff because her side is much softer than mine. So if you like to cuddle, you'll probably find this bed annoying. Luckily for us that's not the case.

Other pro's - adjustable. this option comes in handy if you have a sore back and want something a little stiffer. When my wife was pregnant and ger weight constantly changing, she could adjust the bed to suit her needs. It has a twenty year warranty. The pump holds the air in if it loses power or gets unplugged.

The pump can be very noisy, although they have a quiet model. But when you think about it, does it really matter how noisy it is? You'll be adjusting the bed when your awake anyway. It's expensive but well worth the cost. If I ever get another bed, it will be a King Size select comfort.

How do you repair a Sleep Comfort or Sleep Number bed that leaks air?

I've had two of these beds and both would lose air. It wasn't the pump. I found the solution to be in repairing and/or replacing the the way the air hoses connect to the pump. The only other solution is replacing the mattresses which is too expensive. If you go to Ebay you can find my solution under Sleep Comfort or Sleep Number beds. I've got the solution there with a little yellow book. I've found replacement parts that work like a dream.
