I have heard that West Elm's furniture is poor quality. Is it true?

Does anyone have any experience with the durability of their furniture? I have been told their furniture is not wood but cheap particle board covered with a thin fake wood veneer and almost all pieces need to be assembled. Their prices are high for build it yourself though. I do not want to waste my money.

Not familiar with it, but if it's priced good, looks good and comes with a guarantee why not buy it?

I have never heard of them and when I did a search found multiple complaints. I would also try the Better Business Bureau first. I love to find a good deal on furniture but I do not the hassle sometimes associated. If they are that inexpensive than which part did they make cost cuts and if it is an import how hard will it be to get parts or service? There is places with good quality products that are inexpensive.

Does anyone have west elm bedroom furniture or know anyone that does? ?

Does it look as good as it does in the pics? Is it fairly sturdy?

I have used the their office furniture and kitchen table for my clients before. It is fairly sturdy, but most of the stuff you have to put together yourself. It does look like though.
