Um... Check out Youtube. I ordered mine yesterday after watching a woman on Youtube lose like 70 pounds with it! Wow! Also, there are a few others who have done the same. I say, "try it out!" Because, even if it doesn't work out for ya, you can always give it to someone else as a gift, or better yet, SELL IT ON EBAY! Good luck!

Is it good?
Does it work?
Do you really get to eat real food, and not tiny portions?
Also, i'm 14, but I really need to lose weight.
is it still ok?

You get to eat real food, but he does stress portion control. You eat 6 small meals a day.

Look, this isn't a 'eat anything you want' plan. I found it to be geared more toward people who don't overeat and yet can't lose weight. The eating and exercise plans are based on your specific body type. This is great if you ARE one of those people who don't eat much.

However, if you are like most overweight people, it's not what you eat, but how much. You still have to cut down. You still have to eat better foods. You still have to exercise.

There are some tools that are kind of cool, but it's really a basic, 'eat healthy, exercise' plan that just happens to be catered a little to different body types.

I have tried it (im actually on it now sorta) It works well by teaching you the proper way to eat and what your body can handle. I find the workouts in my opinion to be someone boring and difficult because the bands are a pain. I personally go to the gym for my workouts but i suppose the workout are good considering the moves behind them work the muscle they say it does.

The whole idea tho is to create a consistent metabolism by eating 5-6 times a day of Low sodium, calorie, fat, and sugar/carbs food. In the past 5 1/2 weeks I have lost 30.4 Lbs. (which is helped by my consistent workout routine) But it's an all around good product that teaches you more about eating properly then the workout part of it, but any type of workout does help that metabolism and makes you feel better! So i highly recommend it!!

Has anyone tried Michael Thurmond's 6 Week Body...

New postby Lavone » 29 Oct 2012, 11:37

Has anyone tried Michael Thurmond's 6 Week Body Makeover?

If so, what makes this program any different from others? Can a person really lose weight based upon their current body shape? It sounds like a lot of hooey to me, but I thought I'd ask.

Is this really possible? Has anyone out there been successful with it?
Oooo Gugie thanx a million! I just now joined!

The only snag is that it doesn't offer a vegan plan, and I'll have to both substitute, and also re-do the math for the substitution caloric count. Bummer. Otherwise, it's great, and FREE!

At first I was gonna chuck it, then I realized that even if it's not vegan, the rest of it is excellent. I emailed the team to suggest a vegan plan. ; ^ )

Btw, you can find me under "dgllamas" my name there. Again, THANK YOU!

I bought it and sent it back 3 weeks later - they outline it as a great and easy program...it took over an hour to set up "my program" and when i did some was simple enough that it wasn't worth the momey and the other part was so involved and complicated i didn't bother doing it...ther is a great prog called...sparkpeople.com and it's TOTALLY free on the web...i've been using it for 3 weeks with success...easy...lots of info...and bonus...it's free...

It doesn't work.

This crap about people losing a ton of weight in a short period of time, it's not healthy and it's not true. Plus all this stuff he says about women when they build muscle they add bulk is so not true! Bigger muscles are based mainly on genetics.

If you want to lose weight, eat food in as close to it's natural state as possible. Meaning, no processed foods. Cut out the sugars and refined carbs as much as you can. Exercise for 4-6 times a week.

If you want to lose weight fast, don't fall for the gimmicks.
Unless you are extremely overweight or obese, the most you are going to lose a day is 1-2 lbs a week.

It's healthier and the weight stays off longer that way. If you fall for the gimmicks and lose weight fast, I can assure you it's muscle or water, and once you go back to the way you ate before, you will gain all of it back and then some.

Sorry for the longwinded answer. :)
I suggest you don't follow it, it's a waste of time.

I have the same amount of weight to lose (50 lbs) and I just completed day one of the program. I haven't seen the book, but I found the package helpful and informative. It's a strict program, but after researching diet after diet, they all pretty much are. This plan does take sacrifice. You do eat six times a day, though. So though I'm new to the program, I've been on the forums and read several reviews and more so than not, people are sticking with it and getting results. I spoke to one of the ladies on the infomercial (she's still active on the forums) and she's lost I think a couple hundred pounds. It's no salt, dairy, fat or added sugar (except sweeteners) but she found a way to stick with it. The no salt part is the most difficult for me. But, I plan on hanging in there. Hope this helps!

I haven't done the Michael Thurmond program, but I have done Slim in 6. I have a friend that ordered the Micheal Thurmond package, and it was really complicated. I don't think she ever got very far into it.
Slim in 6 is relatively simple - 6 workouts a week for 6 weeks. The set comes with three main workouts: Start It Up (approx 25 minutes), Ramp It Up (approx. 45 minutes), and Burn It Up (approx. 60 minutes). The schedule goes something like this:
Week 1: SIU
Week 2: SIU/RIU (alternating days)
Week 3 : RIU
Week 4: RUI/BIU (alternating days)
Week 5: BIU
Week 6: BIU
There are ab and stretching workouts to work in during the week as well.
I did not do the diet plan that came with the set I ordered from beachbody and it did look reasonable.
The workouts are really efficient and there is countdown clock on the screen as you workout. My one complaint about the workouts are the number of squats and lunges...I have kind of bad knees and ended up only being able to go about 3 weeks into the program before having to stop b/c of my knees. I did lose about 10 lbs and I could see some difference in those three weeks.
Hope this is helpful.
