How to get rid of the white particles at the hinges and bottom of walk-in bath tub door?

The white particles make the door difficult to open and close.

Use white vinegar....get a rag sopping wet with the vinegar, put it over the area with the white particles. Leave on for about 8 hours, being sure it doesn't dry out. It should then easily wipe and rinse off. A toothbrush or wire brush should help loosen any leftover stubborn corrosion.

My ranch home has 2-1/2 baths. If I redo one bath, remove the tub and have a walk-in shower installed, will?

It take away the some of the value of my home?

Reducing a bath/shower to just a shower may reduce the value of your house to an inspector but what counts is what is the value to the buyer. some people would like a stand up shower to a bath/shower so it is up to the buyer as to what it is worth. To some people it doesnt matter.

How do I make a "bath tub" for two small kids (ages 14 months & 27 months) in a walk-in handicap shower?

I just moved into a house that has no bath tub, just a walk-in handicap shower. My two little ones HATE showers, so I need to find a way to give them baths. I can't think of anything other than setting a plastic storage tub in there, but there HAS to be a better way. Is there a product that will convert this shower into a small tub? Or do you have an ideas on how I can accomplish this?
And please keep in mind that I would have to move this something everyday as I use the shower, so it needs to be easy to drain, lift, and move out of the way frequently!

We are mid remodel and just had this same issue. our kids love taking baths but are also like the spray from the shower. We solved the dilemma by using a large rectangular plastic laundry basket. Its pretty stout- Rubbermaid I think with large holes in the sides only. That way the water fills up enough for you to scoop it and wash hair but at the same time doesn't become a problem when trying to dump it out by being heavy and getting water everywhere as you would with a large tub. Best part is that it pulls double duty by taking all of the clothes to the basement at the end of the night when all of the kids are in bed.

Finally- TMI, but if you have issues getting the kids accustomed to a shower, take an old ride on toy that they like (no stickers on it please) and put it in the shower. Ours love pretending that its a car wash that they almost don't notice the shower spray.

Best of Luck

What is an ideal bath tub depth for use as a soaker and a walk in shower.?

We are putting in a new bathroom and want to buy a bath tub that will primarily be used as a shower stall. meaning we have to step over the edge to get into it ? currently the one in our house is about 17 , but most these days are 20 " is this going to be uncomfortabele/ dangerous ? can we lower the tub into the sub floor

Even a small step up and in can be dangerous because of the possability of slipping.. I ve tile many a tub w/ only a 14/15 in step up and over..I was led to believe from one of my builders that was the new norm for saftey.. Keep checking around and you ll find the lower style tub GL

Walk-In Tubs

New postby Handy Hank » 17 Dec 2009, 20:49

Before anyone even considers a walk-in tub. call this # 1-866-365-6426 or visit their website. http://www.mywalkintubs.com
I was going to buy a walk-in tub from my local Rebath for $6,800.00. My son lives by a store that only sells walk-in tubs and other stuff similar. I found the same tub which Rebath was selling as this company's Economy tub for $3,200.00. Well after I found out that little piece of information I bought their top of the line model for the same price as the Rebath tub. here's the facts: Made in USA, Much bigger and deeper, three times as many jets, built in water heater, insulated tub body, They even matched the tub to my toilet and sink perfectly. As far as I'm concerned Premier, and Rebath can sit and spin. :D
