Hi all!

Does any of you have a vague idea how much would it cost to produce a business card out of solid gold? It would be exactly the size of a credit card. Would it even be practical? It sure would make a hell of an impression to a valuable client.

A nice idea, but pretty much impossible. It would cost hundreds of dollars for the gold alone, and to get it made would cost a fortune on top if that, and if you were to change your details at all you'd have to get it remade.
And also, it is impossible to make a business card out of solid gold. The gold in earrings isn't pure gold, it's a mix of metals to make it hard enough. It would be too soft to stay in shape properly, if it was pure gold.

An idea instead would be to have it made in platinum, and inlay the words in gold. Overall it would be cheaper and more practical.
Also, if you give away a solid gold business card to every client, your talking thousands of dollars.

I found a gold card. It is the size of a business card and has what looks like oriental writing. what is it?

On one side it has what looks like a snake with oriental writing and on the other side there is a lady in a gown. She does have a "dot" on her forehead. The card is gold, not sure if it is real or not, and everything is etched into it. Both sides have what looks like oriental writing on it. Has anyone ever seen anything like it?

Gold leaf is only if you want "real gold" if you just want to look like gold, the process is called foil stamping.
