New postby Margrett » 22 Oct 2012, 00:02

What is a similar fragrance to Fredericks of Hollywood signature scent?

This fragrance has been discontinued and now I need to find a new favorite. Any suggestions for similar fragrances would be appreciated.

How big are the cup sizes on Fredericks Of Hollywood corsets?

I am a 38D, so I am buying a "size 38" corset, but I worry the cup size will be too small. How do the cup sizes run in proportion to the band sizes?

I have a Fredericks "Renaissance" corset. I am a 42D. The cup is slightly snug, not as much as a sports bra. You should be fine and supported for typical use.
My husband thinks is is a good visual appeal.

I bought Fredericks of Hollywood corsets online, and im wondering if anyone knows what the boneing is?

Ok so i bought 'Ultimate Satin Corset' and 'New Hollywood WAist Cincher' and i kind of guessed that they won't be steel boned, but i was wondering if anyone knows what the quality of them are and how tight you can make them without looking ridiculous. They were between 25 and 70 $$ Canadian sooo anyone know/ bought them?

Fredericks' corset are corset in name only, they are not a real corset.

This is not to bag them, they make some nice clothes. But the corset range is designed to look like a corset without the heavy construction required to cinch you in like a real corset. As such I would suspect that the boning is plastic and the stitching etc is designed to fit firmly, not tightly. This is confirmed by this quote from there website

"Our corsets are not designed to train your waist. Initially pulling too tightly can cause damage to the grommets in your corset."
Reference http://www.fredericks.com/services/howtocorset.asp

If you want to get the cinched in effect from a real corset you will have to pay a lot more. the price range is $200 and up

Do not over tighten otherwise you will damage the garment. Just lace firmly.

Trying to replace the Fredericks of Hollywood fragrance?

New postby Tama » 22 Oct 2012, 00:03

Does anyone know if Fredericks of Hollywood is discontinuing their fragrance. It is great, and it is no longer sold in the Frederick's catalog, or in the stores. I was looking for a fragrance that is similar, something not to sweet but has a light spice smell to it.

Thanks!

Yes - it has already been discontinued on the website and once it sells out of the stores, its gone for good. I spoke to a manager at a local store and she indicated in a managers conference call they had earlier this week, there was a request for stores to send it to other stores because of the demand. Your best bet is to start calling stores. I found one that was willing to take my credit card number over the phone and ship it to me. Good Luck!!

I think it's great. When I'm at fredericks, trying on lingerie to surprise me guy, I would absolutely love a male employee there to give me his opinion on whatever, whether it's too skimpy, too covering, too tight, whether it looks amazing or not.

However, most boyfriends would probably hate and envy the guy that works at fredericks that get to help the women with lingerie.

You'd definitely need to watch out for over protective boyfriends.

I'm in a very open, trusting relationship, I'd be able to come right out and say "Yeah, this guy that works at fredericks helped me picked this out, he told me the other one was too slutty (haha)." and my boyfriend would probably say "A guy works at fredericks? is he gay?" but from a girls point of view, it'd be pretty helpful, and you'd get to help hot chicks with lingerie, and the other men would think you're gay or the luckiest man alive.

I'm all for it.

Is it ok for guys to go to fredericks of Hollywood or Victorias Secret?

My gf and I just had a talk about lingerie where I told her I had fantasies about her and she tells me she had been thinking about getting some to wear for me. She isnt one to shop for that kind of stuff and I was hoping for some help from both guys and girls on if its ok to go to one of those stores, and on top of that what do I look for?

Just go - I always see a few men from time to time there. If you are that nervous wait until the weeks before Valentine's Day - always tons of guys going then.

First, visit the website of either store to get an idea of what you like. Then get all her measurements, cup size and shoe size. Knowing her weight might help too.

Last if you are like teenagers then everything I just said doesn't apply and you should rethink your relationship first
