Is the medical transcription course I am thinking of taking worth the cost?

I have found a medical transcribing course at a local technical school. The cost for a 6 month course is 6,995 , books are provided along with a person who will assist you with your course.

Go to www.ahdionline.com for a list of approved schools. There is a certain criteria that transcription schools have to meet and this website has a list of the ones that meet that criteria. There is A LOT of information you need to know to be a successful transcriptionist and most of the schools you'll find online won't teach you everything you'll need. The ones listed on this website are typically more expensive than ones you'll find elsewhere, but if you're getting a better education that will actually get you a job, it's worth it.

Hi,

If you are from commerce or arts, not a problem to take medical transcription. In medical transcription, English will dominate rather than medicine. If you are good at English, you can take up. Thousands(lakhs) of MTs are from commerce and arts only.

Initially, you will earn 6000 to 9000, once you are understanding dictation, then you can earn more. You can submit your request form at http://www.andhrascribe.com/
they will get back to you with details.

If you have doubts, you can view their group and understand what their members are discussing.

A friend of mine started her business slowly and it grew. She initially networked with her own medical providers and got their business transcribing medical notes. Her business has grown a great deal. Start small with one client and then move forward... Good luck
