If your office pool wins the lottery how is the prize money supposed to be managed?

Should everyone sign the winning ticket or just one person?

If you are part of a lottery group, then you should have a WRITTEN agreement on how the money is to be paid in and paid out!

If you don't, go to your state's lottery site and check for a lottery groups page (Michigan has one) they probably will have a sample agreement for a lottery club.

As for what you need to do now, if you do not have an agreement, I would have everyone that contributed sign a copy (on letter size paper) of the ticket with an explanation that this was a lottery group, and all signers agree to split the proceeds equally. Be sure to date it!

Good luck!

Have any other Presidents managed to add 10% to the National Debt with less than a month in Office?

Or will Obama be the first?

Nope! HE has not even been the man for 2 weeks and he is spending his face off. All this after he talked about change and how Bush and the Republicans went on a spending binge. He is proving himself to be a typical politician like any other and not the Messiah that his supporters make him out to be. Its sad, because, even though I'm a conservative, I was hopeful he would make real changes. Unfortunately, he is just a more of the same Washington politician.

How do u manage office supplies?

New postby Lesia » 27 Oct 2012, 05:29

Hi Im an executive assistant and I order office supplies for the staff of 50.i keep stuff handy in a draw (Which gets cleaned out fast) We even have a office supply machine with our basic needs in there. I also take request by email if they need anything special like folders binders, headset, pens they prefer.

Im wondering whats the best way to tame the office supplies. I want to get rid off my cabinet and just have the supply pro machine and them asking me for orders. I think that will make them think twice.

Circulate a notice saying that office supplies costs are running high (whether they are or are not).

Put up a signout sheet and have everyone who needs something fill in what they took. Tell them this is to better track inventory and make ordering new supplies easier. People will take only what they need if there is a public record of it. Your e-mail records are viewable by you and you only. Everyone can see that JimBob uses too many pens, or is a staple hog (using my system).

This has worked at two different offices where I have contracted.

Are you still angry that Reagan managed to triple the national debt in the 8 years he was in office?

I know I am. Add to that the fact that he provided weapons to the same terrorists we are now trying to kill, and Reagan may be the worst president ever.

Yes, and i still bring up this argument when talking politics with an avid Reagan/bush/bush fan. It is hard not to forget that Reagan plunged the national debt to levels previously unheard. But let us not forget that the economy took a horrible hit as well, with FIFTY percent of farmers(just mentioning one of the hard it economic groups) nation wide going bankrupt thanks to his trickle down economics. Lets us learn from one of the worst presidents ever and try not to vote another one in...uh...wait..damn, to late.

Where to go to manage my Office Football Pool?

New postby Filiberto » 27 Oct 2012, 05:29

Just started a football pool at work and was wondering if there is a site I can use to broadcast the results and everyone's picks? It's a straight pick pool and would like everyone playing to get online and see who everyone else chose, the winner, the results, etc.

Thanks!

Would you hire someone with no experience and track record to manage an office that you oversee?

Re bent over, no, I'm not that lucky but I know a guy who hired another guy with those lack of qualifications. Do you think maybe he bent over?
Let me make one thing perfectly clear, I did not do that with that woman. Ah, define "that."

I'm trying to calculate the seriousness of this question.

The easy answer is no. if you are looking for a reason to say yes, this is what I would look at.

Do you know the person on a personal level? Do you know they are highly accountable and successful in other ways? Are they in charge of non-profit organizations? Do they work with kids soccer teams to help organize games and buying jersees?

When you say they have no experience...usually they have experience in something, you just have to figure out what it is. If you can't relate it to what you want them to do, you should probably hold out and "hire tough".

Once you hire someone, it's kinda hard to fire someone...at least legally.
