What types of bachelor degrees can I get to get into law school with?

I was wondering what type of bachelor degrees I have the option of earning, that will help me get into law school. Paralegal studies? Criminal Justice? What are my options?

Easy: ANY!

Law schools aren't too picky about what you study, so long as you can show them you can write well (even just decently). But you do that in your personal statement. Your major really doesn't matter for legal work. Criminal justice is probably more specific.

If you intend to go to law school, pick an easy major, and get a very good GPA. Don't take hard majors that will sink your GPA.

Also, study for the LSAT.

LSAT and GPA are basically all you need for law schools. Yes, they are THAT shallow.

What careers are available for fine arts bachelor degrees?

New postby Makeda » 17 Oct 2009, 21:18

I have a BS in psych and am considering getting a bachelor's in fine arts degree, but I am wondering what careers are possible with such a degree. Any additional resources would be great - I have no idea where to even start looking. Thanks!

What is the cheapest and the best online university offering bachelor degrees in psychology?

I just finished with my Associate of Arts and looking to move on. I live in Dayton, Ohio and I prefer something online so that I am able to work full time and be at home with my son in the evenings.

Usually, cheapest and best don't work in the same sentence. Especially not when we're talking about schools.

Take a look at the Ohio University Bachelor of Specialized Studies http://www.ouorc.ohio.edu/menu/rhp/bd/s ... tudies.htm
and see if that meets your needs.

Peru State College http://www.peru.edu/online/index.htm#.htm
has a solid reputation and their fees are very reasonable. They offer a BS in Psych online.

American Military University (you don't have to be military) http://www.amu.edu is well under $300 a semester hour and they offer a bachelor's in psychology.

UMass http://www.umassonline.net/degrees/NewP ... egree.html
has a BA in Psychology online and they have a "best" reputation but they aren't "cheap".

Whatever you select - make sure the school has a solid reputation and that it is regionally accredited.

Why do some people with bachelor degrees sometimes work in..

New postby Makeda » 17 Oct 2009, 21:18

Why do some people with bachelor degrees sometimes work in fast food? Is it really not what you kno but who?

Does a degree really not get you anywhere these days? I'm about to get my bachelor's in African American Studies, what type of jobs can I get with that unless i go to grad school or law school?

Some degrees are for getting good jobs, others are only for preparing you for more advanced degrees. You have chosen the latter. I also chose the latter when I was in college. Since I was not well-connected, I ended up settling for a low-wage entry level office job, but things improved quickly after that.

Fortunately, once your foot is in the door a college degree of any type can potentially help you crawl your way to a better job and better pay. Hopefully your degree has enabled you to learn how to learn...that is what can set people apart in the workplace.

You may have to set your expectations low at first, but if you have truly "learned to learn" in your undergraduate studies, you can soon rise to something better.

Does 150 credit hours from 2 bachelor degrees enable you...

Does 150 credit hours from 2 bachelor degrees enable you to sit for the CPA exam and become licensed?

If you have a bachelor's in Business Management and a bachelor's in Accounting for a total of 150 credits, can you become a licensed CPA? Or do you have to have a masters degree?

It depends on the state. You can check the CPA requirements online for every state.

My school told me you had to have 30 credit hours in specific accounting courses and 150 credits.

My schools program is 27 credit hours. My school's way of getting you to go into the masters program, however some business classes meet the accounting credit policy. I am a double major too. I'm not doing my MSA. I may do an MBA in 2 or 3 years to be more rounded.
