My mom is selling something very expensive on craigslist and was almost scammed out of $3,300 this past week. I know all the tricks to avoid being a victim of online scams so I'm selling it for her now. I received an e-mail from a potential buyer this morning and I want to find out if her lives in the same state. He uses a gmail address- is there a way to look him up? Thanks!
I downloaded the google talk, too. I saw that people have suggested that, but that only allows you to invite users what I have seen.

No Google does not disclose data on gmail users and doesn't publish any sort of gmail directory.

The simple way to make sure the buyer is really nearby is to have them meet you in a safe, public place to complete the transaction.

All ISPs and e-Mail Providers have a data base of their members; but, this is not open to all.

You would need to buy from the data base to get that information.

However, of late, most e-Mail Providers don't sell this information and those that do, make it so expensive that a would be spammer would be discouraged.
