How can I send a fax via the Internet to a fax number.and not pay for it?

I have tried various softwares on the internet that allow you to fax via the web to any physical fax machine.but they charge too much and most of them charge by the month. I wanted to see if there is something other than these.I have checked efax, myfax, 32bit internet fax and some others.

Is there a way to send an International Fax over the internet?

I have a fax machine. I can also scan a document. I need to send a fax to an overseas company. They will not accept email downloads because of the fear of virus contamination. Is there a service that does so on a per time basis? Alternatively, is there a way to do it for free?

Have you tried to google 'free internet fax' ? I did, and it came up with a lot of sites. Not sure where you're faxing from and where to, but it may just have what you need.

Dial-up internet people could send fax for free.

Switched to cable internet connection & they want to charge for sending fax. Do all cable providers charge for fax?

You can download e-fax, and it's free for the download and free to send/receive faxes.
