Can You Set Up Gmail To Redirect Emails From Another Gmail...

New postby Keturah » 08 Jun 2009, 03:41

Can you set up gmail to redirect emails from another gmail account?

OK so I have my personal gmail account, and a professional one, but I hardly ever check my professional one. I want to set up that whenever I get an email on my pro one, I get an alert or have it redirected to my personal email.

Is that possible? Please provide a tutorial.

Thank you!

You certainly can. Gmail supports forwarding. To set it up, check out the following Gmail help page:

How do I set up Gmail on my mobile phone?

New postby Sue » 08 Jun 2009, 03:41

I have an LG Shine KE970. I've entered all the settings; incoming & outgoing mail server, username, email, password, ports etc. But it won't retrieve my emails. It says 'time out' sometimes or 'failed to connect'.
I've also tried to download and install the Gmail app but when I visit the download site through my phone browser it won't work. I press 'download' but nothing happens.

Hi Brad
You use the Google-provided email up-loader program, designed for Thunderbird and Outlook users, which automatically uploads a user’s local email file to the user’s account so they can receive the messages.

There is a very detailed guide at IT Expert, the info you want is about 1/3 down the page. Link below.
Kind regards

How do you set up Gmail with Outlook Express?

New postby Ouida » 08 Jun 2009, 03:41

I followed all the directions on the gmail page. Enabled POP forwarding, etc, set it up manually step by step according to the instructions gmail gave, but it doesn't work properly! Is there something I'm missing? Do you have to have the gmail website open or something in order to access it through outlook express?

Have you tried the automatic configuration tool for gmail configuration if not try from the link below :

http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answ ... swer=13276

for manual configuration on outlook use following steps

To configure your client manually:

Enable POP in your Gmail account.

To enable POP in your Gmail account, please follow these steps:

Log in to your Gmail account.
Click 'Settings' at the top of any Gmail page.
Click 'Forwarding and POP' in the orange 'Mail Settings' box.
Select 'Enable POP for all mail' or 'Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.'
Choose the action you'd like your Gmail messages to take after they are accessed with POP.
Configure your POP client* and click 'Save Changes.'

Open Outlook or Outlook Express.
Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'Accounts...'
Click 'Add,' and then click 'Mail...'
Enter your name in the 'Display name:' field, and click 'Next.'
Enter your full Gmail email address (username@gmail.com) in the 'Email address:' field, and click 'Next.'
Enter 'pop.gmail.com' in the 'Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:' field. Enter 'smtp.gmail.com' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:' field.
Click 'Next.'
Enter your Gmail username (including '@gmail.com') in the 'Account name:' field. Enter your Gmail password in the 'Password:' field, and click 'Next.'
Click 'Finish.'
Highlight 'pop.gmail.com' under 'Account,' and click 'Properties.'
Click the 'Advanced' tab.
Check the box next to 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)' under 'Outgoing Mail (SMTP).'
Enter '465' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP):' field.
Check the box next to 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)' under 'Incoming mail (POP3).' The port will change to 995.
*The order of 'Outgoing' and 'Incoming' mail server fields varies by version. Make sure you enter the correct information in each field.

Click the 'Servers' tab, and check the box next to 'My server requires authentication.'

hope this helps.

Hello!

It depends where you have your Yahoo account. Yahoo Italy allows POP3 access for free. In the US of A it's a premium feature as far as I remember and you need to sign up for this premium service.

Or you could just use a third-party software that downloads your Yahoo mails (via http), stores them on your computer and forwards it to Google. (Yahoo Pops is the name as far as I remember...). There are several software products out there. Some for free, some cost money.

For WL Hotmail... download the Windows Live Hotmail software to your computer. The newest version allows the download of Hotmail messages to your local computer. Create a second account (imap4) for google and try to move your messages to Gmail.

I know it's a real bad solution, but it's probably the only way. Or just forward your Gmail to your Yahoo Mail & Hotmail account ;)

Try out http://v3.izymail.com.... but the service ain't free as far as I remember. Just the first 10 or 20 messages or so are free... if you want them to forward more... you need to pay.

How do you set up a Gmail account?

New postby Aja » 08 Jun 2009, 03:41

I went to the website and entered in my cell phone number to recieve my invitation via text message. However, I still haven't recieved it even though I have tried several times. I desperately want and need a Gmail account because its the only place available on my schools internet system.

Go to http://mail.google.com

click "sign up for gmail"

enter your info, and you will instantaneously have an active gmail account.

And if your school is using a firewall, learn about anonymous proxies. I cant be held liable though for any ramifications/disciplinary actions you may face if you choose to use the information you learn about anonymous proxies to get around your schools web filter(s).
