First of all very few attorneys will most likely not be reading this website. (I stand to be corrected on that-if that holds to not be true). Secondly, most attorneys do not have to look for their clients-their clients contact them first. Third, I would suggest that you check your local phone book in the yellow pages for attorney listings. Usually they have what they charge for uncontested divorces. Fourth, you may be able to contact a legal service in your area for more information or to see if you are eligible for them to offer you their services. Fifth, go to the FIRST web resource and do some research and contact one of the attorneys listed there. You may possibly be able to contact them via email. The second web resource listed is the webite site of an attorney in your area.
This is to show you an example of the websites that attorneys use. Use the same type web search or telephone book search in the Arizona area. Just type in Divorce Attorneys in - type in name of city- Arizona

IMO finding a good divorce or personal injury lawyer is fairly difficult. You can save yourself a lot of grief and money by doing some research upfront -- talk to divorce support groups, too.

Family law problems can get quite vicious. In Toronto, Canada, the only floor in the main courthouse where ALL visitors have to go thru a metal detector is the FAMILY (divorce) courts. One lawyer got slugged in the elevator by an adverse party (spouse, or "ex" of his client.)

There is also a tendency for false physical abuse allegations.

If money is also involved, you would do well to read what happened in Redpath vs. Redpath -- private investigators made all the difference, factually.

Good lawyers have to be located by proper research.

Can any one recommend an affordable divorce lawyer in Dallas,TX for an uncontested divorce w/2 kids?

I recently seperated from my husband and want to get this over with ASAP. I'm not the richest person but I need an idea as how to get started with the process and any recommendations would be helpful. Keep in mind I'm in TX and it's a community property state .

None of them are affordable! If it is uncontested and he doesn't want custody then go for a no-fault divorce but get an attorney and set the separation date. Good luck..

Always go by word of mouth. The best way to find a good lawyer is by someone who has used them...........

Houston Divorce Lawyer - Marilyn Gale Vilyus
Family law attorney practicing in divorce, family law mediation, child support, child custody, and Texas family law issues.

Marilyn Gale Vilyus is a Houston Divorce Lawyer and Mediator who handles ALL kinds of divorces -- from the friendliest, uncontested divorce where she represents one of the parties whose spouse participates without an attorney, to the most serious of divorce circumstances, such as those requiring the termination of parental rights.

Marilyn is a Houston family law lawyer that defines the phrase "conflict resolution" and is dedicated to helping couples keep the costs of a divorce as low as possible -- and that includes both the financial costs and the emotional costs! We offer a variety of services, including providing the information our clients need to determine whether or not to get divorced at all!

The more a couple can make their own decisions about their divorce, the more they will stay out of court and the more money they will save! Ms. Vilyus uses her experience as a Houston Divorce Lawyer to make sure her clients' rights are protected and ALL the necessary issues are discussed and resolved, while still allowing both parties to maintain control over their agreement to the highest degree possible. This is NOT the kind of law suit where a "windfall" check is going to arrive at the end! The less parties spend on "fighting", the less they will spend on attorney fees and the more money they will have to divide between themselves!

Whether or not a couple has children, FRIENDLIER IS CHEAPER! A divorce is a life-impacting experience, and we help our clients see the "light at the end of the tunnel!"

Marilyn will explain how Houston Texas judges deal with issues regarding basic needs so that the couple can maintain the "status quo" while the divorce is pending.

If the couple has children, the prime questions are these:

1. Where will the children live? CHILD CUSTODY
2. How much will CHILD SUPPORT be?
3. What kind of visitation of children will there be?

Studies show that it is essential for children to know that they are not responsible for their parents' divorce. Kids learn much about life while watching their parents divorce: how to treat the opposite sex, how to handle anger, how to compromise, how to handle disappointment, how to overcome diversity, how to forgive, how to make the best out of a bad situation!! Kids will use their parents as role models and, later in life, whenever they face any problems with their own relationships, they will act just like they saw their mom or dad do!

The couple will each be required to take a parenting class and to file the original of the certificate of completion with the court. This is not really about parenting as much as it is about the effects of divorce on kids. We will provide a variety of acceptable classes so that a client can choose one with the most convenient date, time and location.

WHAT IF ITS DOWNRIGHT UGLY?

Unfortunately, sometimes the circumstances are such that the divorce requires a tough, aggressive legal approach. Even in these cases, a client can be confident that Ms. Vilyus will use her negotiating and mediation skills to obtain the best result. Sometimes, a court hearing and / or trial is necessary. Whatever it takes, any client of Ms. Vilyus can rely on her commitment and dedication to work hard to get the best possible outcome! The parties may go to DIVORCE MEDIATION prior to trial. In this situation, Ms. Vilyus represents her client at the mediation, which would also be attended by the spouse and his or her attorney.

This should be differentiated from the situations in which Ms. Vilyus acts as a Houston Divorce Mediator herself in order to facilitate an agreement between two spouses and their respective Houston divorce lawyers.

Of course, our office also deals with many Texas family law issues in addition to divorce.

Our Law Office is dedicated to the practice of Family Law. We are located in West Houston and also handle Texas family law cases in Harris County, Fort Bend County, Montgomery County, Waller County, among ALL AREAS ACROSS TEXAS

Interview several. the first 30 minutes are often free. Ask them who they would recommend.

Get an attorney that is familiar with the court and judges. Local attorney's can really help.

If kids are involved, get someone that specializes in custody.

Be prepared to spend some bucks, but remember in the end that the more you and your wife can agree to, the less $$$$ you will toss to the blood sucking lawyers....

good luck.
