I received a remote car starter as a gift that included the installation but I don't want to void my warranty. I want to find out how not to void the warranty on my new car but have the remote car starter installed.

I've always purchased an extended auto warranty for every car I've owned in the last 5 years. I used to get them from the dealer, but lately it's cheaper to get them from an aftermarket company that specializes in warranties. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Warranty-Quote.html They offer free quotes, so it's easy to see how much one would cost for your car.

How long do I have to cancel an automobile extended warranty?

I bought a new car a couple of months ago and was rear-ended pretty severely about a month later. The car sustained over $10,000 in damage and I do not feel safe in it after it has been returned.

I bought the extended warranty on the car when I purchased it and now am looking to get rid of the car for something else. How long to I generally have to cancel this policy and recoup my costs?

I would contact someone from the company that sold you that extended warrenty right now because you would get %100 back now.
Your regular warrenty should see you through untill you do whatever your going to do.

Buy the extended warranty from the manufacturer. No questions or issues about who will pay for what when you need to use it.
Negotiate the price with the dealer.

My question to you is why do you need an extended warranty on a Japanese car especially a Toyota.

I have never heard of them do they actually administer the contracts or are they just sellers? Most of the companies that send you post cards and make phone calls trying to sell "extended warranties" are just sellers.

With not personal experience with warranty finance I can not comment on them, but not all internet/phone sales companies are bad. Though as a personal preference I would rather deal with somoene in person.

Check with your local Credit Union and your personal auto insurance carrier.
