Does a v4 car with a turbocharger use up more gas than a v6 car with NO turbo?

I want to buy my car and want to know.

Example: 93 240sx with an SR20DET to an. 88 Supra?

1. There haven't been any V4 cars in about 30 years. V refers to the engine configuration. Two banks of cylinders arranged like a V with the crank at the bottom. All current 4 cylinders for cars are either flat-4 or inline-4. There are V-4 motorcycles, though.

2. It is not that simple. Fuel consumption varies by a whole lot of factors besides engine size and aspiration. Size and type of turbo, compression, RPMs, fuel used, a whole lot of things. You have to look at cars on a case by case basis.

3. Supras don't have V-6s, they have inline 6s.

If your traveling from Houston to Milwakee how many tanks of gas would it take with a v4 or v6 car ?

Just trying to figure out how much it would cost it's about 1200 miles.

Thers no way to answer this with out a ur mpgs and plus thers to many variables(how u drive, road conitions, fuel type...etc)

lets just say ur car gets an average of 20mpg which makes sense with a used I4 (no v4s) or v6(maybe)

1200mi / 20mpg = 50 gal x $4.00(for gas dont know how much u'll pay) = $200

u'll probably end up paying more, maybe closer to $300 if u dont get lost, make many stops and keep a speed of 45-50 mph to attain those o so ellusive claimed mpg's

so pack lightly(weight matters)
drive slowly(not aggressive)
and beg the holy god ur car doesnt break down on the way(happens)

You can use a Hydrogen system which costs about $1000 - $1500 and if you are in the USA there is a federal incentive that will give you a tax credit of up to $4000 for hydrogen fueled vehicles.

Info: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/tax_afv.shtml

These systems if install properly will increase your fuel economy 40%-70%.

But, now you have to ask yourself, if you will own your car long enough for this to pay for itself.

Here is a website that sells these kits, but be careful as I have just started studying these myself and checking pros and cons of these systems.

http://www.hydrogen-fuel.ca/

Make sure that any kit you buy includes a Oxygen sensor conversion which will boost you fuel economy far greater and is needed for hydrogen boosted cars.
