Big advantage- Cancer, if the child or family member gets cancer, the stem cells in the umbillical cord can be used to treat it.

Big Disadvantage- Cost, It costs a lot of money to bank cord blood.

Yes i have. the umb bank can serve many purposes. when my mom was dying from cancer we found out that the cord from the baby can be used for bone marrow transplant. they can use it to fight diabetes. they can use it to fight cancer. there are many uses. even if you need a transfusion the blood from this can be used.
