Well, it is one of the things that we do see, The Doctors that charge more also help the peopel get fixed who were screwed up by the cheap ones......ask a more reputable doctor what his "repair" raite is for pts that had cheap lasik done elsewhere. It does happen. I say, you have only one set of eyes. Get the best. Got to maloneyvision.com read in his best selling book about how to find a laser surgeon and what to look for in a reputable Doctor. He is the best in the world and can also refer you to a good doctor in your area. Cheap and eyes do not go well together. They never have.

Lasik eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

I would strongly recommend that you read this website carefully before making a decision. You have only one pair of eyes, and therefore should not risk your most precious things. I have had lasik surgery myself, and if I were given a choice , I would never have it again. Please do not believe in those who can benefit from your surgery. What they aim at is money, and not your health. I think there is a new technique that helps shape your eyes and thus reduces your myopia without involving any operations at all.

Dawn, Good idea, but I do not think that would work.
Type Lasik surgery in your line......msn, yahoo or whatever you use. It comes up with all alot of answers and prices.
5.500.00 no, no...go somewhere else.....check it out.
I know you will be happier.
Good Luck

Blue in NY offers discounts for Weight Watchers, not Jenny Craig. That might vary by state. The discounts on plastic surgery and Lasik is news to me though - that might be a specific rider on the plan that an employer can select.

I have blue cross and they do have the discounts you mentioned. But it's not through blue cross directly. The program is called healthy extensions and those companies you've listed will give you a discount if you're a blue cross member. It's kind of similar to a lot of places that give you discounts if you have AAA membership (hotels, amusement parks,etc.).

I ordered baby products from safebeginnings.com and used the blue cross coupon code to get a 10% discount.

The link I use is:
