Where Can You Order Contacts Online And Have The Company...

Where can you order contacts online and have the company bill your insurance?

I want to find a website online that will allow me to order contacts online and then bill the insurance company. All I can find is the fact that most do not bill your insurance and you need to get reimbursed.

Anyone know of a place that does this?

There is a reason that they do not. They make very little money on contacts as it is. Their bottom line price is very close to cost. If they had an insurance billing depeartment they would have to charge the smae as we do in our offices!

Reading a vision prescription to order contacts online?

New postby Alica » 29 Oct 2012, 07:51

I am interested in buying contacts online, and I have my prescription, but I dont know what number means what, in order to fill out the order forms. It doesnt help that the prescription is written poorly.
It says
0D - 825-100 x035
05 -825 -100 x.25 or 125?

What do those numbers mean, which is the power, which is the diameter, which is the BC?

U have an astigmatism and therefore need a toric lense. With this prescription I think u are better to go to the opticians and get them to order for u as u dont take a "standard" lense.

You absolutely need a prescription to buy contacts. Beware of contacts you find a flea markets, etc. Contacts need to be prescribed not only for their power, but also for their size and shape so that they fit your eye properly and don't cause any damage. You also do not really know if these contacts are sterile or where they came from. If you need a month or two to save up for an exam, your eye doctor might be able to supply you with a pair or two until then.

Is there a way to order eye contacts online? Reliable sites only?

I just had an eye exam two months ago and I don't want to pay for another one just to order more contacts. Any reliable sites available?

1800contacts.com
they have all contact brands, but u must have a prescription and u can only get the brand your doctor wrote for you...they also give you some info about each brand ( such as desposal, cleaning, etc....) if u need help they also have a online customer service where u can chat to them or call them akso. Depended on the total, the shipping is sometimes free. usually takes 5-7 days. thats wat it says.To me, the prices are really good. Hope this helps

Even if you don't need vision correction, you still need to see an eye doctor to be fitted for the lenses, educated on how to care for them, and monitored while you wear them. Contacts that are the wrong size can irritate or even damage your eyes, so you need to see a doctor to know what kind of lenses and what size works for you. And online sites will call your doctor to verify your prescription, so there's no getting around it. I agree that you should try calling some other places. Wal-Mart and Costco usually have optical departments with cheaper rates. Good luck.
