Your doctor should've given you a bottle of solution when you had your trial pair, and that's would be the same type you use once you got your prescription.

Anyway, my doctor gave me Complete Multipurpose Solution, along with rewetting drops.

Are Bausch and Lomb purevision contact lenses ok for dry eyes?

On the website, it says they have Aergel, which helps keep them moist and comfortable. And yet many reviewers have complained that they dry out very quickly. So which is the truth?

There are many different causes for dry eye and as a result people will have different responses to different contact lenses. Some people may comment that purevision dry out quickly but others may love them.

Its important to remember that the lens brand is part of your contact lens prescription and the person who can make the best call as to which lens is best for your eye is an optometrist after they look at your eyes.

Is it usual to wait for Purevision Toric trial lenses for...

Is it usual to wait for Purevision Toric trial lenses for over two months?

My trial lenses were ordered in March. According to the distributor, the lenses were supposed to arrive in a month. But they didn't. Since then, the distributor has kept promising that it will be soon, but nothing ever happened. So I'm slowly starting to lose my patience. Thanks for any info.

Generally not. That has happened on occasion when the lenses were on back-order from the factory, but I'm not having any problems getting them for my patients now.

Changing toric contact lenses, PureVision to Acuvue?

New postby Devon » 28 Oct 2012, 04:57

I currently use PureVision Toric contact lenses, but they dry my eyes out quickly so I want to switch to Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism.

I haven't got the time to go to an optometrist for a consultation, but are Toric lenses and lenses for Astigmatism the same thing?

Also, is it okay to go ahead and use the same prescription from before for my new pair or does the fitting vary with each lense brand?

Thanks.

Yep, Toric lenses are for astigmatism. They both mean the same thing.

The fit can vary enormously with toric lenses. There is no way to know if another brand will fit without a trial fitting first.

You wouldn't be able to switch without a proper prescription for them anyway.

You are going to have to find the time to get back to the Dr. if you aren't happy with the brand you have now.

Can somebody talk to me about Bausch and Lomb PureVision contact lenses?

I just started wearing the 30-day Bausch and Lomb Purevision contacts. Can you really wear them for night and day? How often are you supposed to take them out and wash them? Thanks for any answers!

I wouldnt wear them all night, even if they say you can. It helps to give your eyes a break, because they get more oxygen that way.
It depends what kind of solution you have. Most are pretty simple, you take your contacts off, rinse with some solution and rub them on the palm of your hand. Many solutions say you dont need to rub contacts, but I spoke with a representative for one of the major solution companies and she said its always a good idea to rub contacts. It helps to get rid of protein buildup.
Store them in the same solution and rinse them again before putting them on again, and thats it!
Enjoy!

Worried about my purevision lenses?

New postby Delena » 28 Oct 2012, 04:57

Basically, i can choose from acuvue advance lenses, or purevision. I know purevision are healthier for my eyes, but i'm worried about their 'stiffness' and how that could affect my eyes when they become dry (as they often do!) - Could they damage my eye more than the softer acuvue advance lenses, being of a harder consistancy?

It really depends on the user eye. Purevision are better as it also more oxygen flow. Lower water content. U might want to try it out lst. Hardness or softness doesnt really matter
