I am currentlt looking for info on Gatlin Education Services. Are they good and if I get their certificate, will I be eligible to sit for the professional certification exam after I complete their course ? How do I find this out ?

Hi, there are several great schools to choose from for coding/billing education and many not so good schools.

Don't go w/ an education clearinghouse that offers 100 different programs.

Go w/ a school that has a proven track record.

A good school will prepare you to sit for the AHIMA CCA exam. There are numerous different billing certifications and a good school will lead you in the right direction for that as well. Billing and coding are two separate things : ) However, it's not a bad idea to be proficient w/ both to increase employability.

Has anyone done medical billing and coding course through Allied Medical School? ?

I am getting ready to start this online course and would like to know if anyone has had success going thru this program and getting a good job afterward. Also I would like to know if Allied is certified thru AHIMA and or AAPC? Any help or suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I didn't try AMS, BUT i used US Career Institute for medical coding and claims specialist (same thing) online. I am still in it. Almost finished. I talked to a private doctor's office and they said u.s.c.i's certification meets their criteria. So, when Im finished I can work there. When you received your school information, you should have received all of the school's certifications. They should have sent it the mail. You can always email your school or phone them and ask if they are.

I took a course in medical billing coding and insurance and now i would like to take my coding exam howtostart?

I would like to know if i am able to the exam to become a certified medical coder. I took a course at a tech school labled medical adminstrative asst. in that couse i took a class for medical coding please help me understand if this is possible

You have to contact the NHA they are located in New York they will send you the test prep and then they will give you the time and place to take the test. Be advised it may be several months to take the test and you will more than likely have to go to another city in your area to take it...

I know this because I am awaiting my test prep kit myself..

From what my Instructor said the tests are very easy and so far she hasn't heard of anyone NOT passing them

Does anyone know of a school in los angeles that offers a good medical billing and coding course.?

I am looking to go to school in the eve, i knoww that there are some community centers and such that offer these classes. Any reccomendations would be helpful please. Los Angeles, Ca
