Do You Know Another Other Moving Truck Rental Services...

New postby Fallon » 26 Oct 2012, 05:25

Do you know another other moving truck rental services other than uhaul, penske, ryder, or budget?

I booked a moving truck at Uhaul for tomorrow, but they moved me to Monday. Do you know other places I can rent a truck from? I'm moving from Houston to Austin (University of Texas). I really need a truck for tomorrow.

Ryder consumer rental is now part of Budget. Seeing as this is the last weekend of the month, the demand is high, and it is going to be hard to find a truck. U haul was actually sued (and lost) for not providing trucks that they promised.

The only thing you can to is raise a loud enough stink, so that they give you a truck and bump someone else. Go to the location where you reserved the truck, and make a pest of yourself. Stay there and the first truck that comes in, insist on it being given to you. If it is larger than the truck you reserved, they should not charge you extra.

They took your reservation and deposit, they need to provide you with a truck. If they do not and it costs you anything extra, small claims court is a good idea!!!

Cheap moving services/moving truck rentals?

New postby Janise » 26 Oct 2012, 05:25

Moving from Sacramento CA to Portland Or and the cheapest I've found is nearly $800! Does anyone have any tips for moving all of my things for a cheaper price?

Hmmmm... I recently made a move that was about the same mileage as yours, and with U-Haul, I rented a slightly smaller truck, yet packed very efficiently, and I moved for only $520.00 ... I checked out Budget, Ryder, and Penske, yet, no one had better customer service and online booking rates than U-Haul. They also were very leniant with us as far as our gas mileage, that way we wouldn't have to pay extra. Try U-Haul. For a little more money, you get excellent customer service and excellent equipment. Just be wary of where you get the truck from , ok?
