Truck Rental?

New postby Lashandra » 27 Sep 2010, 01:03

I'm trying to find a cheap way to pick up a large sectional couch 200 miles away and bring it back here. I don't know anyone who owns a truck so i've got to rent something. but I can't find anything reasonably priced

Enterprise and U-haul rent vans and pickups. They would be cheaper than renting a moving van to move a couch. I check my local Enterprise and came up with this quote.
1 Day @ $ 79.19 USD
VEHICLE LICENSE RECOVERY FEE $ 1.50 USD

Subtotal $ 80.69 USD

SALES TAX $ 8.07 USD

* Total Estimated
Charges $ 88.76 USD

How to find cheapest moving truck rental for one way trip from South San Francisco to Modesto Ca?

Moved out of our apartment 2 months ago. Have most of our things in Public Storage Unit in South San Francisco Finally have house available in Modesto and trying to find cheapest way to move. On a very tight budget and should be able to fit nearly everything in one moving truck. Need to find cheapest truck and if possible to rent it for a one way trip?

You would probably have to do some shopping around to get the best deal. To shorten the process, use the following link: http://www.moversneeds.com/trucks/rental-trucks/
It already has listings of major rental companies, so you don’t have to do all the research yourself. Have a safe and easy relocation!

Can someone please clue me into which moving truck rental...

New postby Irvin » 27 Sep 2010, 01:03

Can someone please clue me into which moving truck rental is generally the most resonable in price?

Additionally, if anyone can tell me if its more reasonable to go with a moving company and can recommend one which is affordable.Any tips on bartering for better estimates would be helpful too.

We are a military family. We have moved 8 times in 10 years, sometimes we did the moves ourselves, and sometimes we had professionals do it. If you just want to rent a truck and move yourself, U-Haul is probably the best way to go, and believe it or not, they have the largest assortment of trucks , the lowest rent-per-day fees, and the best service IF you ever have an issue like a flat tire, etc. as well as the most pick-up drop off locations, meaning you the customer get the best service. Sometimes you can go into a local U-Haul rental/pick up location and they may offer you a 17 ft truck for the price of a 14. Otherwise, book online for the most savings, and you will be allowed to choose a pickup location at their website. Allied/Carlyle are the best for pack it up move it, unload it type moving, but are very expensive.

They're are several moving companies that will do ever thing from packing and unpacking for you including driving it to where you want it to go. Check your phone book in the yellow pages under movers. Bekins is one of our local companies, but there are also smaller companies all around. Call several and get estimates.
