You have to pay for the score. Next time you try to make a purchase you can ask for your score.

Also If you go to annualcreditreport.com you can buy your score. I think it's 7 dollars.

Or just try a free 30 day program and cancel same day.

You can easily obtain a free credit report from each of the three credit reporting agencies by visiting www.annualcreditreport.com. Each agency is required to provide a free credit report once per year.

Getting a free creidt rating or FICO score is much more difficult. The free annual credit report does not include your score. In fact,in my experience, anything that advertises a free credit score is not true.

I am able to get a monthly credit score from one of the banks that I have a credit card with. You might be able to do the same. Also, if you apply for a loan, your loan officer could let you know your credit score. These are the only ways I have ever gotten a free credit score.

Write to Congress and ask them to change the law to require the credit bureaus to offer this. They currently do not.

You can order your score from any of the 3 credit bureaus directly from their websites...

Each score associates with each bureau. They typically range from $6-$9 per score. There are websites that give you all 3 scores for a set price, or give you updates on the scores each month for a monthly fee.

How can I get my credit score for free or for a fee?

New postby Lupita » 25 Oct 2012, 05:03

I don't want to sign up for any monitoring services and I have already gotten my credit reports from the three reporting companies. Is there any way to get my FICO credit score for free or for a small, one-time fee?
I don't want the report, I want the score!
The report does not contain the FICO score. I want the credit score not the reports.

Don't go to any other site for free credit report that this site:
http://www.annualcreditreport.com
This is the gov't recommended scam free site. Any other site gives you a filtered site where you do not see every detail.
You can go there every time you want to check your credit reports. After the free ones, you can pay around 9.95 for each report.

You will have to pay for scores. The only public scoring company you can trust for accuracy is FICO.
Other companies sell "scores" but they are innacurate and not worth it at all.
Go here for scores:
http://www.myfico.com/Products/FICOOne/Description.aspx
Scores are 15.95 each and there are three scores.
Use this discount code:
GOALS25 or this one CPPSAVINGS

Under the FACT Act amendments to the Fair Credit Reporting Act you are entitled to one free credit file disclosure in a 12 month period. To request this free annual disclosure you may contact the Central Source on-line at www.annualcreditreport.com.

You can also contact the Central Source to request this free annual disclosure by calling toll free (877) FACTACT or by using the mail request form available at the central source website located at www.annualcreditreport.com.

Be aware that there are services that will give you a free credit report if you sign up to try their credit monitoring service for free. After the first month, if you do not cancel, they start charging you for the service.

I am not saying that credit monitoring services are a scam. A great many people benefit from them, but more often than not, the free report ends up costing you money.
