Hole In UPVC Conservatory Roof?

New postby Sidney » 29 Oct 2012, 11:55

Hi there! A storm blew something onto my conservatory roof and there's an irregular hole about 10cm long and 5 cm wide in the upper surface of one of the UPVC panels. The two lower surfaces are undamaged. Can I fix it myself or should I call the insurance company and pay the excess?

Sounds like you should call the insurance company ASAP before it gets worse and the weather gets bad again and does more damage. Thats what happened to my roof.

Has anyone used a company called Henderson UPVC for their windows or conservatory?

Thinking of using this company for my conservatory as their quote is the cheapest but want to find out if anyone has had any problems with them?

How old is the windows? if they are not that old you may have some water getting in between the jambs and the frame of the opening, which is stuffed with insulation that may be wet and therefor swollen
