Fax Over Internet

Can I Fax Over The Internet Without A Fax Modem?

New postby Shaunte » 28 Oct 2012, 02:28

I'm looking for a software that can send faxes with only a dsl line. I already have winfax, but it requires to sign with a company to pay monthly or fax with a modem. Does anyone have any suggestion?

If you are wanting to just SEND faxes for FREE check out
http://eztel.com/freefax/sendfax.html to type (or cut and paste) a document to fax or use http://eztel.com/freefax/ to send the fax using your email.
This utilizes free fax servers. Just remember you can only SEND with this not receive. But best of all it's free and no software to install

Is it possible to use my multifunction printer to fax over the Internet?

I just bought a nice multifunction printer, that has auto-document feeder and faxing capability. However, I do not have a land-line (I rely only on my cell phone service). Is there a way to get my fax / scanner / printer to fax over the Internet?

The fax is just scanning the paper you want to send, converting it to an electronic form. The print or fax capability simply sends the now-electronic document to a printer, or a fax number, or, if you wish, to an address on the internet.

Easier still, just scan the document, and then send it as an e-mail to wherever you want it to go.

Is there a way to send an International Fax over the internet?

I have a fax machine. I can also scan a document. I need to send a fax to an overseas company. They will not accept email downloads because of the fear of virus contamination. Is there a service that does so on a per time basis? Alternatively, is there a way to do it for free?

Onesuite Fax Plus (Free 1 month trial) service is pay as you go, meaning you pay for each fax page you sent. Their fax rates (based on prepaid calls) are very good, for example it will only cost you 1.9 cents to send a fax to someone in Canada, 2.2 cents to UK and most countries in Europe.

For complete rates search here -> http://www.onesuite.com/rates.asp

If you have a phone modem then you should be able to use the built in fax feature for Windows to send one. It's free and is simply a fax feature.

What is a good way to fax documents over the internet from a Macintosh?

I would need to fax only about 20-30 faxes per year, throughout the year. Since I travel a lot I wouldn't have access to a dedicated phone/fax line, so I'd like something that I could use via the internet.
Does anybody have any solutions for a Macintosh that they've used and which they would recommend?

I don't have a Mac, but I do have a FAX modem.

When I want to FAX, I create a Word document, then File, Print, and select FAX as the printer. A wizard displays, I select the recipient from my Address Book, and the FAX goes out over the phone line.

Check to see if you have a FAX modem. I'm sure your Mac would work similarly to my desktop.

There is a great fax service over the internet call eFAX. You would need to set up an account though, but it is great in the long run.
