Web Monitoring Software

How Can I Get Around Web Monitoring Software At Work?

New postby Will » 26 Oct 2012, 19:09

At work we have a program that monitors what you do and how often you do it on the web. Now I want to look busy but sometimes its hard, is there anyway to make it so they can't see what I'm doing on the web or even make them think I'm looking at one page but actually accessing another?

What web monitoring software would you suggest?

New postby Gail » 26 Oct 2012, 19:09

I am going to be responsible for monitoring a website which will host a web application, and it is expected to generate a fairly large amount of hits. I have done some research, but I was just curious if anyone has any suggestions, or past experiences with any they have used.

You did not say what web server BUT the web server logs files would be the best way to monitor your web traffic. There are tons of free tools to parse and generate reports on log files. I have mostly used apache so if your using IIS I really cannot offer any advice but I imagine searching for

IIS logging

should point you in the right direction.

good luck

Web Server Monitoring Software - Recommendations For Remote Monitoring Software?

I'm looking for a top-quality web server monitoring software that alerts me the status (up time / downtime / failure / error) of all of my servers and websites in real time. I know a few tools for remote monitoring but none of them meet my needs yet.

I'm a network + site administrator and recently started using SMS Domain Alert for monitoring the state of my clients' servers. It's a powerful web server monitoring software that constantly checks your websites to ensure that they are live and running.

It does this in real-time and automatically sends a text message on your mobile as soon as your sites go down. For me personally, it's been a life saver.

I would tell them of the actions you intend to take and when it was to be effective!

A better choice is software that disallows certain connections!

You should have access to all the email as the day's activities is usually saved as most are not on a hard drive! We backed ours up daily just in case of issues with the loss of data and work product!

Every website visited is put into the History unless it gets deleted by somebody.
